Next group ride: Saturday: 28th

Time: 5:15 a.m. (first light)
Where: Nellos at 48th and Warner
Route: Around the Mountain and San Juan or Towers option.

Total ride: Two loops all the way around S Mnt. Stops at Circle K off Central (less than 2 minutes), back on the bike and refuel and reload at Circle K off Elliot and 48th St for loop 2. Same Central stop on loop 2.

Distance: 1 Loop = 44 Miles 2 Loops = 88 Miles Add San Juan = 10 Miles, Towers= 17 Miles

Focus: For those preparing for longer endurance rides this is a completely flat controlled course. Things you should learn on this ride:
  1. Proper nutrition and calories per hour
  2. Proper hydration and sources of hydration
  3. Practice with any items you have not used to see if it works or not
  4. Dial in sodium intake
  5. Controlling speed, gears and heart rate. You should maintain the pace and split time on lap two as lap one. If not, why? What was different? Did you keep yourself cool? Drink enough? Eat enough? Push too hard too early? These are concerns you need to dial in now, not later.

Dance Night Out, TBD sometime in December

This event is to honor our fallen athletes and family members or friends who have lost their lives way to early. I have personally lost 3 family members and two dear friends way before they should have gone. This "party" is to honor them. Were they athletes; if so, I want a 8x11 photo of them along with a write-up of who he or she is. What sport, why they loved it, why they mean so much, ect. We will hold this event in a place where we can post all of these wonderful individuals. Come share your loved ones with us and lets celebrate and honor who they are and always will be in our hearts.

I'm looking for either sponsors to help cover cost to hold this in a ballroom or if anyone has any connections for me to talk with someone about this event I sure would appreciate it. I have wanted to do this for many years, now its time, but I need your help to help me pull it off.
I promise the following:
  1. One emotional and unforgettable experience that will touch even the hardest of hearts and souls!
  2. A Party never to be forgotten.
  3. A dance mix by DJ Bolen thats bound to move any butt!
Can you help me make this happen? Let me know.

Last, best of luck to everyone racing in August! Mountain Man, Leadville, ect. Go represent well. Have a blast and remember we can tolerate as much pain as we "think" we can handle. Huge shout out to Chuck Mills to kick a^* at Leadville my friend. Go get it Chuck! You will be racing against some of the worlds best, including Lance Armstrong! What a rush.
